Francigena 4 Kids – Pilgrims for a Day

A half-day hike on the Via Francigena, ideal for families
Vexperience Pilgrim for a Day, with a hike on the Via Francigena suitable for everyone. A short, but evocative walking itinerary allows us to savor the excitement of walking this millennial route together with the environmental hiking guides of Sigeric, we will walk the ancient route through beautiful forests, villages and stone bridges, picturesque mountain streams, vineyards and olive groves. All this "child-friendly," through a route designed especially for families and young children, so as to bring them closer to the outdoors and teach them a taste for walking and discovery.
The excursions can be as follows:
- The Via Francigena in Valdantena -A loop trail on the slopes of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, along the Passo della Cisa - Pontremoli stage. We will pass through the ancient villages of Previdé, Groppodalosio, with its medieval bridge, and Casalina, and can refresh ourselves in the waters of the Magra River.
- The Via Francigena in Pontremoli - A loop trail around the village of Pontremoli, the first stop on the Via Francigena in Tuscany. Walking among vineyards and olive groves, we will be able to observe the village from above, with its castle and historic bridges. At the end of the route, we recommend continuing with a visit to the Diocesan Museum, dedicated to the Via Francigena in Lunigiana.
- The Via Francigena along the Magra River, from the Pieve di Sorano to Filetto - One of the richest stretches of historical evidence of the Via Francigena in upper Tuscany. We will begin the route in Filattiera, with the Pieve di Santo Stefano di Sorano, and continue through the medieval village. The route will take us through the Lunigiana woods to the medieval village of Filetto with the mysterious Selva dei Castagni.
