Lunigiana boasts many typical local products among which also a high quality extra-virgin olive oil that, due to its particular features, has been labelled “Colline di Lunigiana” and has been granted PGI denomination.
Indeed, although the trees used are those typical from southern Tuscany, the quality of the soil and the microclimate give this oil a medium fruity, bitter and slightly spicy scent and taste, suitable for many local dishes such as “testaroli” but also wild boar or roe deer or simply to season vegetables and herbs.
